2019 - That's new, folks!

Mobirise

Another year, another experiment.  I guess I felt I was getting too good that photoshop stuff...

Actually, I was watching a lot of old Looney Tunes/Tex Avery cartoons on youtube while editing other pictures, and decided to try a technique I was playing with on the holiday cards.

So the concept was Hannah isn't just my personal cosplay mannequin, now she's a character. Introuducing Ms. Hannah Ween.  She's kind of an Elvira or Zacharle style movie host with a flair for showmanship and crazy, creepy antics.  Also mixed in there, are the cartoon sensibilities of a Daffy Duck streak of cruelty and a Bugs Bunny ability to get out of trouble.  Betty Boop cuteness, Willy Wolf cunning.

Meanwhile, Gwen is... well, I never came up with a name for her.  But now, she's not just Fritz or Igor to Hannah's Victor Frankenstein, she's Jerry to Hannah's Tom.  Tweety to Hannah's Sylvester.  Baby Kangaroo to Hannah's... also Sylvester.  You get the point.  A keystone kaper pair for the spooky fun of Halloween.

The aesthetic is based on older comics and posters, specifically a look I've been trying to create on the family

holiday cards I base on the Saturday Evening Post covers by Norman Rockwell, George Hughes, and my personal favourite, J. C. Leyendecker.
