Well, if you read through the art, it's exactly how it sounds. It started off as just something to make the grandparents and friends smile. I did it again, and by the third year, people were asking constantly what the next year's image was going to be... in NOVEMBER!
It soon became a bit bigger than just a fun thing to do (Kelly, if you're reading this, you're probably the biggest fan outside of blood relations, but by the narrowest of margins).
I still use it as a test for certain lighting and photoshop techniques, but in the past while, I've been wondering if I can use it for something bigger yet. Certainly as a marketing tool for my fledgling business (if Covid-19 would let me...), but maybe as a tool for charity.
We'll have to see in the future. In the meantime, I have to get busy. I'm going to work on a Covid-19 special edition image!
Hannah, the namessake of this project, is a happy, confident, creative young lady who enjoys art, gymnastics, weird youtube videos, and pushing her daddy's buttons.
When she grows up, she wants to be a teacher doctor veterenarian fashion designing artist chef.
If Hannah is our reigning queen, Gwendolyn is our jester. Her sense of humour and imagination is only exceeded by her need for cuddles. Nobody in our house can go a day without at least seven random hug attacks.
When there's an idea to photograph, Hannah tries to add ideas, Gwen just wants to be included and ruin frames with weird faces.
Chris has been in photography for nearly two decades. Having graduated from Algonquin College in Ottawa during the "digital photographic revolution" of the new century, of course his college was still in film.
He has worked with numerous wedding and portrait studios across Ontario, and has been yelled at by the best as well as the mediocre.
He's the reason Hannah and Gwen think the way they do.
